Come One, Come All to the Carnival of Dreams!

{Dress: Guess, Sandals: Marshalls, Earrings: Lucky Brand, Sunglasses: Forever21} My Summer consist of many outdoor activities that I want to partake in before summer is long gone. I mean why not? I love getting in my car and driving to a new horizon and not knowing what to expect or what I’m going to see.  The OC Fair is the quintessential summer destination  that everyone has to go to.  I love the bright colors, the rides, and I can not forget the food …everything is fried! As soon as i smelled the sizzling Turkey legs, I said to myself this your cheat day so go wild. I had a blast and this to me was a reminder I should not take myself too seriously.  I don’t know what it was about the Fair maybe it was the amount of sugar I had that day(I had the best funnel cake Sunday), but my inner child sure had the time of her life. I set a quote for myself: When the going gets tough never to forget I was once …

The Sea of Love

{Top: Ay Que Vintage, Shorts: Forever 21, Sandals: Marshalls,Hat: Zara} This past weekend I celebrated our eight year anniversary with my love by surprising him to a ride/picnic  on a boat.   I wanted to surprise him with something that I know he loves to do.  Riding the boat by the beach reminded me of the movie Sabrina.  Its one of my favorite movies of all time, I imagined how she seemed so happy while sining the banana song and it was the moment when Humphrey Bogart’s character truly falls in love with Audrey Hepburn’s character… call me cheesy, but maybe I wanted to build that kind of romance with my love. I got a feeling of peace and serenity as we listened to good ol’ 60’s rock music in the open sea, from The Beach Boys to The Beatles.  I loved everything about it.  I wanted to embrace and show case the open sea with my outfit with a mix of the Caribbean.

California Girl

The number one thing I love about living in Southern California is the variety of beaches that are just a car ride away.  Besides the great weather year round, Southern Cali has the best destinations for mini vacations.  This past weekend I visited Manhattan Beach with my love and for the first time in a while  I was able to relax and enjoy the sounds of the ocean and the sounds of happy children playing on the beach.  Thanks to this day now I’m sporting a cute little tan.  By the way I never thought in my life that I would be able to rock a bathing suit the journey of fitness goal is very difficult, but I will not quit.  Second month in with just simply following a good diet and good exercise routines, I can’t wait for the upcoming months. I hope you all enjoy your weekend! XOXO, Charms of Penny

Singing the Summer Blues

{Romper: Forever 21, Heels: Target, Accesories: Urban Outfitters} I always have an idea of certain things that would not go with my body shape and rompers is the number one item of clothing that I have on my list of things that wouldn’t go.   I have been working out for the past two months and honestly that has been my main focus.  I love the feeling I get after I work out and the boost of confidence I feel when I once again fit on my Levis.  This romper I never thought would have looked well on me.  I felt super proud of myself. The location where I took these photographs is one of my favorite locations going up to Solvang it reminds me of The Lords of the Rings meets delicious ribs.  We celebrated my cousin’s birthday in this Tavern and let me tell you I can still taste the ribs and chili to this day. It is a restaurant in the middle of the woods next door it is a pub where people …

Road Trip-Day One

As soon as summer hits, the first thoughts that come to mind is: what places am I going to discover and of course fun in the sun.  This past weekend my cousins and I decided to take a road trip to Solvang.  It is the first time that my sister, cousins, and I take a vacation together.  The memories and laughs is something that we will forever remember.  Of course the all time girl summer song is playing in my head as I type this post

Riders on the Storm

{Skirt: Gap, Sandals: Steve Madden, Accessories: Thrift Stores} The dessert like the ocean in my eyes is seen as a place to reflect on life.  This summer I have been doing a lot of soul searching.  Riding through this desert I have thought about where my life is at the moment and where I want to be in life in the close future.   Being ambitious…there is nothing wrong with being that way.  I love learning new things and mastering the skills that I once feared.  Being a photographer specially starting this summer I have faced  a  lot of challenges.  I even started to doubt my skills, but by staying positive and being persistent I know that I can conquer it all.

Rosalina Suarez Photography

{Dress: Ay Que Vintage, Accessories: Forever 21}   I aways imagined where I wanted my blog to go as time went by I imagined that it would turn into  whimsical photographs  that were able to transport people into my adventures and locations. This weekend I got together with my cousin who is a photographer and owns her business in the photography field: Rosalina Suarez Photography.  She and I decided to have a small shoot between the break that we had during the wedding that we photographed the past weekend.  Which comes to a reminder that I have news for you guys.  As of now I dont know if you’ve noticed, but I haven’t been posting as often because I have taken up another challenge and got the opportunity to work for Rosa (my cousin) in her wedding or special events.   She is very talented photographer and her skills are undeniably artistic I love that I am able to work with another person who shares the same passions as me. I see summer as the time where …
