Holiday Cheers

In two days we will all be gathered with our families to enjoy the holiday season. Can you believe it?! I am amazed at how fast time flies.  I love how winter allows us to put on layers of clothing.  We are able to mix textures, patterns, and colors all on one outfit. Let me say do not go over board with the patterns! Here is my representation of my holiday outfit in LA. Christmas in LA: there is no better place to feel the holiday cheer. All of the lights in Down town LA the music its simply perfection. Hope you all enjoy the beautiful holiday season.  I know I will I can’t wait for the tamales and champurado and of course to see my entire family. La Cuesta Encantada

{Dress: Tj Maxx, Wedges: BCBG, Hat: Forever 21} This is the trip that literally took my breath away.  I’ll start by saying this: my photographs give no justice to the beauty of this location. The view of this estate was breath taking in one corner I was able to see the Pacific Ocean on the next I was able to see the mountains.  The castle was a place where all the top celebrities would come by invitation and stay a couple of days in this beautiful location, people like Charlie Chaplin and Walt Disney were some of the guest that were privileged to be invited  to the castle.  As I was walking in the castle I was thinking of how amazing it would have been to be one of Hearst’s esteemed guests.   I dressed the part with my little white dress, you know and try to make it a little bit more special.  The dress reminded me in a way to the Roman era, one of the many themes the Castle held. California Girl

The number one thing I love about living in Southern California is the variety of beaches that are just a car ride away.  Besides the great weather year round, Southern Cali has the best destinations for mini vacations.  This past weekend I visited Manhattan Beach with my love and for the first time in a while  I was able to relax and enjoy the sounds of the ocean and the sounds of happy children playing on the beach.  Thanks to this day now I’m sporting a cute little tan.  By the way I never thought in my life that I would be able to rock a bathing suit the journey of fitness goal is very difficult, but I will not quit.  Second month in with just simply following a good diet and good exercise routines, I can’t wait for the upcoming months. Singing the Summer Blues

{Romper: Forever 21, Heels: Target, Accesories: Urban Outfitters} I always have an idea of certain things that would not go with my body shape and rompers is the number one item of clothing that I have on my list of things that wouldn’t go.   I have been working out for the past two months and honestly that has been my main focus.  I love the feeling I get after I work out and the boost of confidence I feel when I once again fit on my Levis.  This romper I never thought would have looked well on me.  I felt super proud of myself. The location where I took these photographs is one of my favorite locations going up to Solvang it reminds me of The Lords of the Rings meets delicious ribs.  We celebrated my cousin’s birthday in this Tavern and let me tell you I can still taste the ribs and chili to this day. Riders on the Storm

{Skirt: Gap, Sandals: Steve Madden, Accessories: Thrift Stores} The dessert like the ocean in my eyes is seen as a place to reflect on life.  This summer I have been doing a lot of soul searching.  Riding through this desert I have thought about where my life is at the moment and where I want to be in life in the close future.   Being ambitious…there is nothing wrong with being that way.  I love learning new things and mastering the skills that I once feared.  Being a photographer specially starting this summer I have faced  a  lot of challenges.  I even started to doubt my skills, but by staying positive and being persistent I know that I can conquer it all.

  {TJ Maxx Dress, Steve Madden Gladiator Sandals, Forever 21 hat and accessories, Buffalo Exchange Bag} The word spontaneous accelerates my blood.   That and the word trip.  This past weekend my boyfriend and I decided to visit our love nest.  It is a place that was currently hit with tragedy and it saddened our heart that Santa Barbara was struck with such travesty.  It is a place that is filled with peacefulness and the news did not hit us until we were already driving to visit our “home” We tried not to think of what had occurred on the past days and our prayers do go out to the families of the victims. Everything about this trip was spontaneous.  From deciding to take our dear Penny for the first time on our small road trip to riding on the coast of Santa Barbara with Penny inside the basket.  I loved everything about it and this day will be marked in my heart forever.

  {American Apparel dress, heels purchased in Amazon, Ivanka Trump purse, Marc Jacobs watch, Thrift Store accessories} Hello everyone, Once again I find myself having a small hiatus from my blog and it is something that breaks my heart.  From the end of another school year to a daily 8 to 5 job.  I find myself struggling with finding time to do what I love to do.  I managed to find the time I needed and enjoy the three day weekend we just had.  I love enjoying the weekends as much as possible and stay away from sitting down, which is what I do at my office job.  The outfit that I wore was different from the rest.  I wanted to feel extra fancy this day so I put the dress that always makes me feel so lady like and ended with my dear Penny Lane by my side and witness the beautiful sunset.

{TJmaxx Sporty Trousers, Pink Shirt: G Stage, Custom purse for me :), Target: heels, Urban Outfitters necklace} What can be better than a custom bag made for you.  This bag has finally made its debut and it was an amazing journey working with the designer and being able to my thoughts into creating this masterpiece.  He was so detailed with the patterns and colors and I sincerely love everything about this purse.  The basket weaving, the color of the leather, and of course my initials. Like the title says the owl will forever be by my side and this custom purse will forever be by my side     

When Life Gives You Lemons

{Dress Buffalo Exchange, Heels JCpenny, Hat and accessories Forever 21} Moving forward from the bad luck I had last week is something that I am slowly learning to get over.  From last week’s dreadful accounting test to getting sick, and the cherry on top: getting my car towed away in the mix of other things.  I learned to look at situations from a different perspective.  Things happen for a reason and even though we try to live life perfectly things will happen that are out of our control.  If we didn’t encounter problems then life would not be interesting.  In this city that I love I have to learn to grow tough, specially being a Mexican woman.  Bring on the lemons and salt because I need to make Margaritas. This dress was a perfect representation of how i was thinking of my situations.  When life gets tough bring on your best outfit forward because even though life is not going your way.  A great outfit will boost confidence and bring on a smile.
