ZARA: Maxi Dress It’s been such a long time my friends! Balance is one of the things I want to work on this coming year.  My goal is to keep you updated as much as possible with my wacky adventures.  I have missed being able to share what I have been up to, but with starting my photography business as well as maintaining my 8-5 job, and being a full time student it has kept me extremely busy.  No matter how extreme my schedule gets, I will not let go of my Charms of Penny it is a part of me. Fall for Boots

       It is the first day of fall! It is crazy how quickly time flies.  I can not say I was waiting for this season to start because I feel like this summer I was not able to enjoy it as much as I wanted to.  Believe me I will slowly start transitioning to fall appropriate weather.  (Talk to the LA weather guru because it has been extremely hot for the last couple of weeks) A way in which I am transitioning to Fall clothing is by dusting off my good ol’ boots and sporting them with anything from shorts, dresses, or skirts.  Like the lovely number you see above.  I got this from an amazing event in Down Town La called A Current Affair, which only happens twice a year once in April and the next In September 26 (this weekend).  I can not wait to see what is in store this time around.  They have so many things it is Vintage Nirvana.  It’s A Current Affair is selling tickets online hope you LA peeps …

Fall in LA

My love hate relationship with LA continues.  I love that I am able to practically wear anything anytime of year.  The fashion rule of not wearing white is thrown out the window. Why you ask, well because its hot! White is associated with cool weather. Being a Cali girl the weather is very mysterious.  Some days are very hot and some are a bit cooler.  With that reason we can get away with being a bit rebellious and wear shorts with our Doc. Martens during fall or wearing a summer dress with closed toed heels. The Down fall of my dear Cali weather is that I can not really wear gorgeous coats while sipping on a hot pumpkin latte to keep warm or enjoy a white Christmas, but I am content it.  This gives me an excuse to travel outside of the LA area this fall/winter.

California Girl

The number one thing I love about living in Southern California is the variety of beaches that are just a car ride away.  Besides the great weather year round, Southern Cali has the best destinations for mini vacations.  This past weekend I visited Manhattan Beach with my love and for the first time in a while  I was able to relax and enjoy the sounds of the ocean and the sounds of happy children playing on the beach.  Thanks to this day now I’m sporting a cute little tan.  By the way I never thought in my life that I would be able to rock a bathing suit the journey of fitness goal is very difficult, but I will not quit.  Second month in with just simply following a good diet and good exercise routines, I can’t wait for the upcoming months. Singing the Summer Blues

{Romper: Forever 21, Heels: Target, Accesories: Urban Outfitters} I always have an idea of certain things that would not go with my body shape and rompers is the number one item of clothing that I have on my list of things that wouldn’t go.   I have been working out for the past two months and honestly that has been my main focus.  I love the feeling I get after I work out and the boost of confidence I feel when I once again fit on my Levis.  This romper I never thought would have looked well on me.  I felt super proud of myself. The location where I took these photographs is one of my favorite locations going up to Solvang it reminds me of The Lords of the Rings meets delicious ribs.  We celebrated my cousin’s birthday in this Tavern and let me tell you I can still taste the ribs and chili to this day. {Skirt: Gap, Sandals: Steve Madden, Accessories: Thrift Stores} The dessert like the ocean in my eyes is seen as a place to reflect on life.  This summer I have been doing a lot of soul searching.  Riding through this desert I have thought about where my life is at the moment and where I want to be in life in the close future.   Being ambitious…there is nothing wrong with being that way.  I love learning new things and mastering the skills that I once feared.  Being a photographer specially starting this summer I have faced  a  lot of challenges.  I even started to doubt my skills, but by staying positive and being persistent I know that I can conquer it all.

Spontaneous is my Middle Name

  {TJ Maxx Dress, Steve Madden Gladiator Sandals, Forever 21 hat and accessories, Buffalo Exchange Bag} The word spontaneous accelerates my blood.   That and the word trip.  This past weekend my boyfriend and I decided to visit our love nest.  It is a place that was currently hit with tragedy and it saddened our heart that Santa Barbara was struck with such travesty.  It is a place that is filled with peacefulness and the news did not hit us until we were already driving to visit our “home” We tried not to think of what had occurred on the past days and our prayers do go out to the families of the victims. Everything about this trip was spontaneous.  From deciding to take our dear Penny for the first time on our small road trip to riding on the coast of Santa Barbara with Penny inside the basket.  I loved everything about it and this day will be marked in my heart forever.

  {American Apparel dress, heels purchased in Amazon, Ivanka Trump purse, Marc Jacobs watch, Thrift Store accessories} Hello everyone, Once again I find myself having a small hiatus from my blog and it is something that breaks my heart.  From the end of another school year to a daily 8 to 5 job.  I find myself struggling with finding time to do what I love to do.  I managed to find the time I needed and enjoy the three day weekend we just had.  I love enjoying the weekends as much as possible and stay away from sitting down, which is what I do at my office job.  The outfit that I wore was different from the rest.  I wanted to feel extra fancy this day so I put the dress that always makes me feel so lady like and ended with my dear Penny Lane by my side and witness the beautiful sunset.

{Dress Buffalo Exchange, Heels JCpenny, Hat and accessories Forever 21} Moving forward from the bad luck I had last week is something that I am slowly learning to get over.  From last week’s dreadful accounting test to getting sick, and the cherry on top: getting my car towed away in the mix of other things.  I learned to look at situations from a different perspective.  Things happen for a reason and even though we try to live life perfectly things will happen that are out of our control.  If we didn’t encounter problems then life would not be interesting.  In this city that I love I have to learn to grow tough, specially being a Mexican woman.  Bring on the lemons and salt because I need to make Margaritas.
