The Graduate

Dress: Betsy Johnson Heels: Steve Madden Dress: Nordstrom and top Heels: Sam Edelman To say I am proud of my accomplishment will be understating the undeniable joy I am feeling at this moment in time. Not only is this degree for my future, but being the first in the entire Tapia family to earn a degree, I share this triumph with them. We came to the United States with one change of clothes, leaving everything behind. All of us with their families living under one tiny roof, with the dream of a brighter future. I intend on carrying my family’s name, break barriers, and push myself to the unknown limit. Being a first generation Mexican immigrant and the oldest in my family receiving this degree was a MUST. It was something I had to prove to myself, and show my siblings they can achieve more than I could! I did this on my own and that is a thought which is engraved in my mind. All the rough nights of no sleep, studying at Denny’s till …

Greaser in Disguise

Sam Edelman: Over the Knee Boots With spring finally being here! I know it’s crazy! I am slowly and I mean sllooowwlllyy cleaning up my closet to get me ready for spring! With the lighter temperature dam right I still get away with wearing my fav Armani Exchange leather jacket and Sam Edelman over the knee boots.  I don’t know what it is, but something about these two items always makes a regular outfit feel like it is all of a sudden fashion forward with a bit of a bad ass attitude.  I mean how can I not these boots are made for strutting and that’s what I’m going to do!

Lucky 27

Blue Jumpsuit Lulus Heels: Steve Madden Earings Black You guys I am 27! I say this with happiness in my soul and excitement in the air, welcoming this new chapter in life! Just like a child, I get very excited I kinda see it as a national holiday! Seriously,  if I could talk to the homies to do the necessary paperwork to make it official I would, but for now, I will keep this “holiday” with my family and friends. Just like a child, I get very excited I kinda see it as a national holiday! Seriously,  if I could talk to the homies to do the necessary paperwork to make it official I would, but for now, I will keep this “holiday” with my family and friends. I love the celebration! from the gold balloons to the bedazzling confetti, I can’t forget about the delicious cake. At 27 I have no idea what is my favorite type of cake is, maybe marble cheesecake..or maybe I need to dedicate an afternoon to cake testing… since I am in the …

Bainbridge Island adventure

Zara: Coat Vince Camuto: boots Levis: Jeans  Loft: Sweater Our first day in Seattle we decided to visit the best little island my eyes have seen, Bainbridge.  Even though the amount of layers we wore couldn’t keep us warm, the adventure we had that day is one for the books.  We started our morning by hitting General Porpoise We started our morning by hitting General Porpoise Coffee and lets just say LA coffee shops and donuts have nothing on Seattle.  To this day I can still taste the Chocolate marshmallow donut and latte. Every bite was better than the last, honestly, I got a little sad when I gobbled my donut within a minute.  (I need to learn how to eat slow) See now I am craving one, but I have to stick to this daing healthy lifestyle. On to the day… We went to Ferrie from Seattle to Bainbridge! I felt like a child seeing the world for the very first time.  It was beautiful! The scenery of the entire city is unbelievable, I can see why they call this city Emerald City. …

Shimmering to a New Year

Today is the beginning of a new year for me and my little Charms of Penny.  One of my many goals is to continue writing on my blog, the rest of my goals as my father has taught me I will keep them to myself and work on them rather than discuss them.  2016 brought me and taught me many life lessons I will forever take in my heart. It has taught me to be tougher (hence the boots) stronger, it has motivated me to continue to push for my dreams as a pursue to the life I choose to live, BUT most importantly it brought light to my heart again. 2016 I say goodbye to you and thank you for bringing me and teaching me those needed life lessons. Rather than not discussing the elephant in the room, I will briefly say, I had to let go of that part of my life not with anger nor frustration, but acceptance and gratefulness it was a repeated cycle that passed its course.  I am shedding the expectations I thought I …

Lacey Daisy

I can safely say that I have a very strong obsession with having too many stripes and laces in my wardrobe choices.  This shirt by Banana Republic was no exception, I mean come it was on sale, so i had to buy.  I think it’s the fact that the texture automatically makes an outfit classy and that much more put together.  The heels I am currently obsessed with they are by Kurt Geiger and they were the first items in my closet that I splurged in.  Smartly splurged though, I am all about a bargain deal. Here is the background story: Ladies and gents.  If you love everything fashion then you must get these two apps one is Haute Look and the other Nordstrom Rack.  Let me tell you every day they have new sales( 30, %, 50%,60% off sales…oh yeah) going on from designers all over the world. Marc Jacobs, Kate Spade, Chloe, etc.  Go check it out! that is where I got my glorious heels.  Lets just say I am in …

Rosalina Suarez Photography

{Dress: Ay Que Vintage, Accessories: Forever 21}   I aways imagined where I wanted my blog to go as time went by I imagined that it would turn into  whimsical photographs  that were able to transport people into my adventures and locations. This weekend I got together with my cousin who is a photographer and owns her business in the photography field: Rosalina Suarez Photography.  She and I decided to have a small shoot between the break that we had during the wedding that we photographed the past weekend.  Which comes to a reminder that I have news for you guys.  As of now I dont know if you’ve noticed, but I haven’t been posting as often because I have taken up another challenge and got the opportunity to work for Rosa (my cousin) in her wedding or special events.   She is very talented photographer and her skills are undeniably artistic I love that I am able to work with another person who shares the same passions as me. I see summer as the time where …

Spring has Sprung

{Thrift Dress, Aldo Bag, Jeffrey Campbell Heels, Forever 21 earrings, bracelet, and necklace, Marc Jacobs watch} For days I have been anticipating this day. The first day of spring, it is the opportunity of new beginnings: The Flowers are starting to blossom, the time change, and the sunshine is coming out a bit more which means I get to wear more dresses.  Hello brighter colors and catch you later dear coats.  My inspiration to my “Hello to Spring” is my thrift Dress, which is crazy to believe that I found this dress at the amazing price of five dollars. I am now trying to find new hairstyles, it was one of the reasons why I am letting my hair grow, their is a lot of versatility. The location is a place that I have always looked at, but have never had the opportunity to visit.  The Walt Disney Hall is architecturally beautiful.  Every angle of this location is different it reminded me of a House of mirrors.

I left my Heart in San Francisco

{Levis Pants, Vintage Leopard Jacket, Target shirt, Target Sunglasses, Cathy Jean Boots, Forever 21 earrings and ring} Ok so maybe I’m a bit obsessed with this city, so much so that I have dedicated three separate entrees to it. Yes its that magical and yes you should go and see for yourself what I am talking about.  The title speaks for itself, so far I have left my heart in San Fran everything about it was perfect, what made it even more perfect is that I had the opportunity to share these moments with my love. I dont know what it was, but this city brought my wild rock and roller side… literally I’m wearing leopard jacket..This outfit was a bit more risky to something I would not normally wear, honestly I loved that I took that risk.

China Town

{Vintage Jacket, Forever 21 sweater, Levis Jeggins, Cathy Jean boots} The afternoon in this beautiful city is unexplainable.  I finally understand what Mark Twain meant when he said, “The coldest winter I ever spent was a summer in San Francisco.”  I am so use to my LA weather, which is nothing below 70 degrees. I was so glad that i packed layer upon layers of extra jackets.   Even though I was cold the rays of the sun illuminated the city in a way that I have never seen before. In honor of the city I had to continue with boho style.  It was the perfect moment to wear my faux fur jacket it was super warm.  Walking on this street it reminded me of the Jack Nicholson movie, besides the title of the movie, I think it was the fact that the streets were busy.  Every corner had something to offer.  We finally stopped and ate at R& G Lounge restaurant.  It was hands down the best Chinese Food I have ever had. …
