The Graduate

Dress: Betsy Johnson Heels: Steve Madden Dress: Nordstrom and top Heels: Sam Edelman To say I am proud of my accomplishment will be understating the undeniable joy I am feeling at this moment in time. Not only is this degree for my future, but being the first in the entire Tapia family to earn a degree, I share this triumph with them. We came to the United States with one change of clothes, leaving everything behind. All of us with their families living under one tiny roof, with the dream of a brighter future. I intend on carrying my family’s name, break barriers, and push myself to the unknown limit. Being a first generation Mexican immigrant and the oldest in my family receiving this degree was a MUST. It was something I had to prove to myself, and show my siblings they can achieve more than I could! I did this on my own and that is a thought which is engraved in my mind. All the rough nights of no sleep, studying at Denny’s till …

Summer Songs

Gladiator Sandals: Steve Madden //Zara off-Shoulder Printed Dress// Summer is almost over.  I know we are taught to believe that summer is “officially” over after Labor Day, but I am a very technical person sooo…summer isn’t officially over till September 22.  I think I am just in denial that summer fun is a thing of the past.  Besides, in LA we are currently experiencing a crazy heat wave.  You know where I’ll be this weekend! The beach! Soaking up the sun.  I hope you all enjoy your weekend.

Pastel Confetti

Dress: State Pleated Overlay Dress   Pink Sandals similar here: Ugg I wanted to start preparing myself and say catch you later summer by wearing this gorgeous dress.  This dress automatically makes me feel like I am traveling in Europe enjoying a gelato and walking around the Trevi Fountain.  I’m the kind of person who is a summer junkie I love  being able to enjoy the sun’s rays, while I go to the beach or even as I head out to PCH for a scenic drive.  Don’t get me wrong I am looking forward for fall, but can I just have a couple of days more to enjoy summer with all its might?  I wore this 1.State dress that I’m currently obsessed with- I love the pastel rainbow colors and how the pleats on the the dress are so breezy. They kinda feel like a 1920’s silk dress.  I hope you all enjoy the last days of summer to there fullest!!!

Think Pink

Pink Blazer: ZARA ::: Parrot Pattern Shorts: Forever 21  ::: There’s nothing better than having that piece of clothing that automatically makes you feel that much more cooler. This blazer my friends is that item that I am taking about. Yes its summer, which means layers are out of the question. I mean, thats just, like, the rules of feminism!(I had to call out my Mean Girl Movie) but the smooth woven fabric of the blazer keeps the layers very thin perfect for those summer days.  It is very easy to wear specially when those unpredictable weather changes in So Cal.  From sunny hot days to in this case rainy hot day. {BACKGROUND INFO}  I thanked my lucky Stars that I wore this blazer because right after these shots were done it started to pour. Instead of complaining we; my photographer boyfriend and I, decided to make the most of it and take a walk in the rain.  I wish I could say my toes stayed dried on this walk….so romantic ❤

Venice Walks

Jean Midi Skirt: Forever 21 Juicy Couture Bandeau Halter Top (similar) Dolce Vita Strappy Heels Kate Spade Toucan Necklace Venice: It’s one of those places I’ve had in mind to go back and photograph.  I stayed with a fond memory last time I visited  about a year ago the post can be seen here LOVE STREET  As I was seeing my photos from the last time visiting there I just couldn’t help and admire how much my photography skills have improved and the way I style myself has changed.  I am not saying I have reached a level of satisfaction because their is still a lot of things I need to work on, but I am happy with the process of learning the art photography and fashion.  One thing for sure has not changed my love for the carefree dreamer I became as I was walking this gorgeous canals  Each block has its own distinct style, I want to go back and photograph during winter imagine the outfit possibilities simply enjoy a calm walk with my lover …

Denim Boho Flare

Flare Daisy Pants: Forever 21  Levis Denim Top, but similar in Mango I am a true bohemian at heart.  With summer being here that inner chic nomad comes out even more than usual. Levis has to perfect mix of minimalism and boho, like the top I am wearing on the photos,  I had to pair it with my ever so cool flare pants.  Which I may say feel kinda like yoga pants, they are so comfy. Bring on the festivals, long summer nights, and beach days! I hope you all have an awesome week and I’ll Leave you with this question My bf and I are planning a road trip towards the end of August so question guys Where are some awesome, but local places to visit in California? Can’t wait to hear your ideas XOXO

Jump on It

Jumper is Vintage Heels:Steve Madden Stecy Heels  Backpack bought at TJ Maxx similar here: Leather Buckle Zipper Backpack As a Fashion Blogger I never thought it would be so hard to photograph in public locations. This shoot by far was one of the hardest shoots.  Maybe that’s what I get for believing that a crowd of fans from the Pasadena Music Festival would not try to photobomb my photos.  Silly me! This little jumper has become one of my favorite pieces of clothing.  Just as it looks it is very comfortable to wear I can not get enough on how spacious it is, so you know I let it all hang out and ate like there’s no tomorrow.  The only downside was the heels! I love them, but they are so darn uncomfortable.  It is okay though I forgive them, because I will be rocking them over and over again. (Can you say Love Hate Relationship?) I hope you all have a great rest of the week.  Positive vibes from me to all of you.

Rainbow Child

H & M- Camel Shorts   Forever 21-Long Line High Slit Racerback top  Blue Fringe Heels  Statement Necklace Summer is finally here! What a better way to kick the season going then by wearing these awesome and May I add camel shorts.  They are so comfortable I am even considering wearing them as a gym outfit. Heck no! I am only joking.  I wanted to try something new by incorporating this new trending top by Forever 21.  It not something I would usually wear, but since it is summer I was feeling a bit more daring than usual.  Just to give it that extra pop, I wore my blue fringe heels.  They give my outfit that extra wow factor. By the way guys excuse my absence as you can see there is a NEW LAYOUT for Charms Of Penny.  I hope you guys like it!!! I wish I was a bit more tech savvy, but slowly I’ll get there! I hope you all have a great week.

La Cuesta Encantada

{Dress: Tj Maxx, Wedges: BCBG, Hat: Forever 21} This is the trip that literally took my breath away.  I’ll start by saying this: my photographs give no justice to the beauty of this location. The view of this estate was breath taking in one corner I was able to see the Pacific Ocean on the next I was able to see the mountains.  The castle was a place where all the top celebrities would come by invitation and stay a couple of days in this beautiful location, people like Charlie Chaplin and Walt Disney were some of the guest that were privileged to be invited  to the castle.  As I was walking in the castle I was thinking of how amazing it would have been to be one of Hearst’s esteemed guests.   I dressed the part with my little white dress, you know and try to make it a little bit more special.  The dress reminded me in a way to the Roman era, one of the many themes the Castle held. My love and …

Peonies in the City

{Skirt: Forever 21, Top: Forever 21, Watch Marc Jacobs, Heels: Target, Bag: made for me by a local artist} Hi  guys it has been a while that I have spoken to you and let me just start by saying it feels good to post something new to share with you all.  I just started my last semester in College and it has definitely been a crazy schedule.  One moment I am at work  (early in the AM) and the next I am school. Its hard to keep up with everything from my friends to family.  I know that all this struggles that I am facing in life will be worth it.   I am one step closer to receiving my AA degree in business  and that is literally talking, by the end of December I will be receiving my degree. The city.  So many beautiful things to say about it.  Since i was younger I viewed Down Town Los Angeles as a hidden treasure.  Every corner brings something different.  From the Disney Hall, the art …
