Pumpkin Patchin’

Halloween is almost here literally its tomorrow! For me honestly I have not been feeling in the spirit of halloween.  One of the main reasons is because of this semesters schedule.  Going to the pumpkin patch of course uplifted my spirit of Halloween. I love seeing all the little ones dressed up in their costumes and them just enjoying the time with their family.  One of the main reasons I look forward to Halloween is becasue I get to be extra creative as far as my costume goes.  DYI is the way to go for me, there nothing more challenging then thinking of a creative costume and disguissing myself as someone else for fun!!  I hope you all get to enjoy Halloween.  I can’t wait to snuggle on with Penny and watch Hocus Pocus with a big bowl of popcorn. Spontaneous is my Middle Name

{TJ Maxx Dress, Steve Madden Gladiator Sandals, Forever 21 hat and accessories, Buffalo Exchange Bag} The word spontaneous accelerates my blood.   That and the word trip.  This past weekend my boyfriend and I decided to visit our love nest.  It is a place that was currently hit with tragedy and it saddened our heart that Santa Barbara was struck with such travesty.  It is a place that is filled with peacefulness and the news did not hit us until we were already driving to visit our “home” We tried not to think of what had occurred on the past days and our prayers do go out to the families of the victims. Everything about this trip was spontaneous.  From deciding to take our dear Penny for the first time on our small road trip to riding on the coast of Santa Barbara with Penny inside the basket.  I loved everything about it and this day will be marked in my heart forever.

The Owl by My Side

{TJmaxx Sporty Trousers, Pink Shirt: G Stage, Custom purse for me :), Target: heels, Urban Outfitters necklace} What can be better than a custom bag made for you.  This bag has finally made its debut and it was an amazing journey working with the designer and being able to my thoughts into creating this masterpiece.  He was so detailed with the patterns and colors and I sincerely love everything about this purse.  The basket weaving, the color of the leather, and of course my initials. Like the title says the owl will forever be by my side and this custom purse will forever be by my side

Viva Mexico

{Thrift Store white ruffled shirt, High rise shorts from TJ Maxx, Accesories Forever21 and Buffalo Exchange, Shoes Tj Maxx} Today we celebrate Cinco de Mayo, it is a celebration that is very misunderstood.  it is not time to drink up and to Mexican’s in Mexico it is not the true day celebrate the day of Mexico’s independence from France.  Mexico’s Independence is on September 16, Cinco de Mayo is the first battle Mexico won against France. I love my culture and very proud of where I was born.  I love the stories of Pancho Villa and knowing that Frida Kahlo shares my heritage is something that I am very proud of.  My outfit is a small glimpse of Frida Kahlo’s fashion, she was a true inspiration.  The bright colors, the ethnic patterns, and hair style is something I wanted to focus on I wanted it to look very similar to Frida Kahlo.

Journey of a Dress

{Tj Maxx  crop Top, Windsor Leather Jacket, Peter Pilotto for Target skirt, Olsenboye Strappy heels, Ray ban glasses, Vintage purse, Mar Jacobs watch} The Journey of a designer specially Diane Von Fursteberg Story is one to really look out for.  She was able to work with the times and give woman freedom with the rap dress.  Specially during the 70’s when woman were fighting for equal rights.  Her wrap dress itself gave women the freedom to wear what they desired and it was accessible, while still being fashion forward.  Having the opportunity to witness all these dresses was something eye opening. I wanted to wear an outfit that went with the patterns Miss Furstenberg has created over the years and my skirt was a perfect representation of those dress. I hope you all enjoy your weekend, xoxo Charms of Penny
